Modules BOX - robust CAN I/O modules
The field modules of our µCAN-BOX product family provide the link for digital and analogue I/O signal networking. The premium electronics of our µCAN modules facilitates connection of a wide range of sensors and actuators.
The idea: due to their ruggedized design the modules may be installed directly at the signal source, installation of an additional switching cabinet is not necessary. The CAN bus transmits digitized data which reduces costs for installation of control and signal wires.
The electronic system of the µCAN-BOX series is tightly packed in a rugged aluminium casing (protection class IP66) protecting it reliably from dust and water. Signal wires may be connected via metric cable glands or M12 plug-in connectors.
All modules are equipped with a high-speed CAN interface which supports both CAN 2.0A and CAN 2.0B, thus supporting the layer 7 protocols CANopen, J1939 and a multitude of vendor-specific variants. Module address and bit rate are set via slide switch or CAN bus.
The light tube in the cover of the casing indicates the module state. For use in mobile applications, the electrical features are specified within a temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.
Using the µCAN-BOX series you may cross-connect a multitude of sensors and actuators via the CAN bus.
